universal car stereo mp3 adaptor

universal car audio mp3 adaptor?

basically my question is: all ipods have their own specific FM transmitter or car adaptor? Yes,
http://www.cablestogo.com/product.asp?cat_id=102&sku=26480

It connect through 3.5mm STEREO AUDIO CABLE, which makes sense, since all of mp3 player have this audio output jack.
Price? they are expensive. Most of them are above $30.

I have a mp3 tape adaptor which costs couple dollars in local store! But that requires you have tape player in your car and not all of the dollar stores carry them you need to do a search.

meizu m6

meizu is a chinese company, the m6 player have ability to play mp3 and video as well. Supports various music formats, MP3, WMA, WAV, OGG, etc.Movie playback, supports AVI format.

The most feature I like most about it is to easy download. It acts like flash driver, you connect it computer, it becomes the removable disk, all you need to do is to drag the music or video files into the disk. That is it. It took me 10 mins to load 200 songs into 4G meizu m6. While for ipod, it took me about 1 hr to load these same 200 songs, since itune needs to convert the songs into specific format then load into ipod.

the cheapest price for this I found is on walgreen.com, $89.99 for 4G m6. that is great price compared to ipod.

MEIZU m8

I have meizu mp3 player. I think it is great product, it has many similar features as ipod, particularly those buttons and controls. But it has bigger screen, and MUCH CHEAPER!

I heard MEIZU is making a very very similar, yes, very similar device like Apple's iPhone, but again much cheapers, but with better features. I will dig out more information later on and post here.

TOMTOM LE personal notes

This my personal notes about TOMTOM LE. I am not responsible for any content here if they are misleading you or cause problem for you.

TOMTOM LE is great entry-level GPS, packed with some advanced features which you only see in higher price product, like Garmin. I particuarly like the touch-screen of TOMTOM, it is very sensitive, unlikely Garmin, you have to push hard on the screen to get things going, this includes the $699 Garmin 660.

To get thing started, there is 10min video demo about TOMTOM One on youtube.

To see it, go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Hosy9_vF8c. It is european edition in the video, but it is exactly same as LE edition.

It is very important to do a full backup of the device data

So in case something goes wrong with the device, you can recover the data including the map inside. If you need help on this, you can reply to this blog here. But I may only reply quickly for the few people who purchased from my Amazon account as my appreciations to them.

Work with computer
When you connect your TOMTOM LE to computer via the USB cable, if the device is turned off, it will charge the device automatically. If the device is turned on, it will ask you if you want to connect to computer, if you say "Yes", it will prompt you to download TOMTOM HOME software. TOMTOM HOME software is the program you should use to update the device and download additional maps. If you say "no", the device will shut down in a minute and then get charged.

If you have ipod, note the above steps are very similar to how ipod and itune work together to load the songs and charge the ipod.

Car mount
If you have hard time to stick the suction cup mount on the windshield or the device keeps on falling off, you should 1) make sure the window surface is clean, the suction cup is clean. 2) try mount suction cup first then put on the GPS on the mount 3) you can spend $5-$10 to get a good mount from mountguys.com , I like the vent mount for TOMTOM ONE. There is coupon code "prior5" which gives you $1 off.

Some suggest you can use the scotch tape from walmart.

Ok, that is all I have to say so far, I will keep on update this post if I found something useful. Please feel free to ask me questions here.
